Nothing is more heartwarming than to see a group of young girls learning the importance of giving back to the community at such a young age, and a Girl Scouts troop from Lexington, SC, is doing just that! Brownie Troop 1639 recently cleaned out their dress-up closets with the mission of gathering costumes to donate to children who might not otherwise have a costume to wear to EdVenture’s upcoming StoryBook Ball. A few of the girls even bought new costumes just to donate to the cause! Through their efforts, this inspiring group (ages 7-8) have gathered and donated a few dozen costumes to the cause- a huge success in our book! Troop 1639 and their leaders are continuously looking for new opportunities to help the community and to learn important lessons through their efforts. The donation of costumes puts the girls’ one step closer towards earning the Philanthropy badge, and a giant leap toward better understanding of needs in our community. You go girls!!
